Tomas and Austin always dreamed of becoming fathers. As a same-sex couple, they knew their path to parenthood would likely be through adoption or surrogacy. They chose adoption, believing it would be the best fit for their growing family. However, after a devastating failed placement, their hopes began to fade.

Just when they were about to give up, Adoption Choices of Texas reached out about a brave expectant mother who was confident in her decision to place her baby for adoption. From the moment they connected, something just felt right.

In February 2025, their baby  was born. The placement was smooth, and the match felt like fate—especially when they realized their baby resembled one of the adoptive fathers.

Thanks to the support and guidance from the Adoption Choices of Texas team, Tomas and Austin felt reassured every step of the way. Today, they maintain an open adoption with the birth mother, based on mutual respect and clear boundaries. Their family’s journey is a testament to resilience, trust, and the power of second chances.
