IS ADOPTION STILL AN OPTION IF MY CHILD IS ALREADY BORN?

IF YOU HAVE A NEWBORN AND WANT INFORMATION ABOUT ADOPTION,
WE CAN HELP YOU TODAY.

Last Minute Adoption

If you are in labor or if your baby is already born, adoption is still an option. You can contact us when you’re in labor, from the hospital, or even once you have returned home with the baby. At Adoption Choices of Texas, we are always here to help you! It is never too late to make an adoption plan. Our staff is trained to come to a hospital to make an adoption plan with you and help with hospital staff.

After Delivery Adoption

You can choose adoption at any point after your baby is born, whether you’re still at the hospital or you’ve already taken your baby home. If you are feeling that parenting your newborn or young child is not the best choice, we can help you understand your adoption options.

We can help you develop an adoption plan that you think will be best for your child and yourself. You can pick a family, meet them before the adoption happens, have an open or closed adoption, and have the assurance that your baby’s needs are being met and will be in a safe, stable, and loving home.

You can contact us anytime, day or night. Our caring and dedicated adoption coordinators are available 24/7 to help you.

CPS Involvement or DFPS Involvement

If the Department of Child Protective Services is involved in your life, private adoption, where you choose the adoptive parents and you are in control of your adoption plan, is still an option for you. Do not hesitate to call. There is only a small window of time that you have to make an adoption plan and the baby can be released from the hospital directly to the adoptive parents.

We will come to your hospital room or wherever you want to meet and walk you through the process of making a lifelong plan for your baby.

Hospital Adoption

Even though it is a last-minute adoption, you will still have full control of your adoption plan. Our adoption agencies are well equipped to handle last-minute adoptions from the hospital and will work quickly to coordinate everything necessary for your adoption plan. All of our waiting families are prepared for a last-minute adoption and are willing to travel anywhere in the country at a moment’s notice.

Giving your baby up for adoption from the hospital may seem overwhelming, but with the help of our adoption professionals, we can make the process as smooth as possible.

It's Never Too Late To Choose Adoption

It is not uncommon for mothers to choose adoption from the hospital. This type of adoption is usually referred to as a last-minute adoption, after-delivery adoption, or hospital adoption. It can also be known as a drop-in adoption.

Choosing to place your baby up for adoption at birth is an incredibly brave and selfless decision. When you choose adoption, you’re choosing a life filled with love and opportunity for the child and providing a waiting adoptive family with the most amazing and long-awaited gift. Whatever your reasons may be, if you’re not ready to be a parent, adoption is a responsible, healthy, and loving choice.

Whether you are on your way to the hospital, still in the hospital, or have left the hospital with the baby, if you do not want to parent the child, you owe it to yourself and this newborn to explore adoption. Talking to, or meeting with our adoption agency does not obligate you to proceed with an adoption. We will treat you with kindness and respect, never judge you, nor pressure you to proceed with adoption.

It is ok to ask any questions you have. We are here to help.
