J & A’s Journey to Parenthood Through Adoption – Texas

J and A are a biracial same-sex male couple from outside Texas who dreamed of starting a family. After learning that same-sex couples could adopt, they were drawn to Adoption Choices of Texas because the word “Choices” resonated with their belief that birth parents should always have options. They reached out to the agency in January and, by June 2025, were heading home with their newborn son. Initially hoping to adopt a Hispanic or biracial baby, J and A were joyfully surprised when they were matched with a red-haired Caucasian baby boy. They now laugh and say, “The right baby comes with their own preferences too.”
