Keeping Siblings Together Through Adoption: DH’s Journey with Baby Douglas
For Birth Mom DH, choosing adoption a second time was rooted in love and family. After placing her daughter last year, she found peace knowing her little girl was safe and supported. When she became pregnant again, she wanted her children to grow up together—and chose adoption once more.
In Houston, Texas, DH delivered her son, Douglas, at the same hospital where she had placed her daughter. The adoptive family, already connected through their first child, welcomed Douglas with open arms, ensuring the siblings will grow up side by side.
Throughout her journey, DH was supported by her caseworker, Gina Thomas. “Gina is amazing. She made us feel supported throughout the pregnancy, and even more so at the hospital,” DH shared. Reflecting, she added: “Adoption Choices is an amazing agency, and we felt considered both times.”
