Adoption Choices of Texas Post Placement Support Program

At Adoption Choices of Texas, we understand that the journey of birth mothers does not end with the placement of their child for adoption. We recognize the immense courage and selflessness it takes to make such a loving decision, and we are committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate post-adoption support services to honor the strength and resilience of birth mothers.

Adoption Choices of Texas offers a weekly virtual adoption support group for those who have placed a child for adoption and are looking for post-adoption support services. This group is a safe place to share your experiences and lean on each other for encouragement, strength, and inspiration. It is also a wonderful way for you to connect with other birth mothers who have been through the adoption process to help build healthy and positive support systems in your life along with lifelong friendships. Our support group can also offer practical tips and necessary tools and strategies for coping with the challenges that may arise after placement.

Why Do I Need Adoption Post Placement Support?

Post-adoption support is an important step in promoting positive mental health and an opportunity for you to reach success in your life moving forward. We encourage you to join our group and want you to know that Adoption Choices of Texas is here to support you in your healing journey.

Our group meets every Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. central time. There is no cost to attend. We look forward to seeing you and being a part of your journey in adjusting to life after adoption. We thank our attendee’s by offering occasional pizza parties and Uber Eats gift cards as giveaways to honor and celebrate your courage in participating in our post-placement support group.

What Can I Expect from Post Placement Support?

Our post-placement support program is designed to ensure that birth mothers have access to the emotional, practical, and educational resources they need during this transformative time in their lives. We recognize that every birth mother’s experience is unique, and our program is tailored to address individual needs while fostering a supportive community where birth mothers can share their thoughts, concerns, and joys with others who have undergone a similar journey.

  • Emotional Support: We firmly believe that the emotional well-being of birth mothers is of utmost importance. Our team of experienced and empathetic professionals offer confidential counseling services, providing a safe space for birth mothers to process their feelings, address any grief or emotional challenges they may be facing, and navigate the complexities of post-placement emotions. Our counselors are trained in adoption-related issues and are here to listen, support, and guide birth mothers along their healing journey.
  • Practical Assistance: We understand that the practical aspects of life can become overwhelming after the placement of a child for adoption. Our program provides birth mothers with access to vital resources such as housing assistance, medical care, career guidance, and financial planning. We work closely with birth mothers to assess their specific needs and connect them with resources that can help alleviate any immediate concerns, ensuring they have stability and a solid foundation moving forward.
  • Educational Opportunities: As birth mothers continue to navigate their lives after placement, we believe in empowering them with knowledge and skills that can contribute to their personal growth and future success. Our post-placement support program offers various educational opportunities, including workshops on topics such as parenting, life skills, and career development. We also provide access to educational scholarships to assist birth mothers in pursuing their educational goals, enabling them to shape a fulfilling and bright future for themselves.
  • Connection and Community: One of the most valuable aspects of our post-placement support program is the sense of connection and community it provides. Birth mothers will have the opportunity to participate in support groups, both in-person and online, where they can openly share their experiences, find comfort in the stories of others, and build lifelong friendships. Additionally, our program hosts social events and gatherings, creating a welcoming environment where birth mothers can come together and celebrate their unique journey.

Even More Texas Adoption Support

Adoption Choices of Texas also offers the following as a source of support for birth mothers after placement:

  • ChildConnect Services: A web-based service for birth parents and adoptive parents to privately share pictures and letters with one another. ChildConnect is also a way for birth parents and adoptive parents to engage in communication following the adoptive placement.
  • Annual company picnics
  • Holiday events such as Thanksgiving and Christmas meals and Christmas gifts for birthmothers who have placed with Adoption Choices of Texas.
  • Our team will also help with post-placement referrals such as medical care, medications, after-birth supplies, various other community resources, and additional counseling services.

You Deserve Adoption Support

At Adoption Choices of Texas, we believe that birth mothers deserve support that extends beyond the placement process. Our post-placement program is designed to provide birth mothers with the resources, guidance, and community they need to thrive in their lives and continue their personal journeys after adoption. We are committed to walking alongside birth mothers every step of the way, empowering them to embrace their strength and resilience as they create a better future for themselves.
